Proclamation under the Roads and Jetties Act 1935

I, the Governor in and over the State of Tasmania and its Dependencies in the Commonwealth of Australia, acting with the advice of the Executive Council, by this my proclamation made under section 7 of the Roads and Jetties Act 1935  –

(a) declare that the Lake Highway and the Marlborough Highway cease to be State highways for the purposes of Part II of the Roads and Jetties Act 1935 ; and
(b) declare those roads to be subsidiary roads and classified as secondary roads for the purposes of Part II of the Roads and Jetties Act 1935 ; and
(c) amend the proclamation notified in the Gazette as Statutory Rules 1970, No. 67 as follows:
(i) by omitting from the first schedule to that proclamation the items relating to the Lake Highway and the Marlborough Highway;
(ii) by omitting from Part I of the second schedule to that proclamation the item relating to the Poatina Main Road and substituting the following item:

Poatina Main Road

From the Lake Secondary Road at Wihareja to the Illawarra Main Road at a point 0.32 kilometres west of the South Esk River Bridge No. 5640, via Poplar Tree Corner, Woodside Corner, Cressy and Longford

(iii) by inserting in Part II of the second schedule to that proclamation in their correct alphabetical positions the following items:

Lake Secondary Road

From the Midland Highway at a point 1.16 kilometres north of the Quoin Rivulet Bridge near Melton Mowbray to the Deloraine Interchange on the Bass Highway, via Bothwell, Miena, Breona, Golden Valley and Deloraine and including in Deloraine that part of Emu Bay Road to and including the Meander River Bridge

Marlborough Secondary Road

From the Lyell Highway at Bronte at a point 1.69 kilometres north-west of the Bronte Canal Bridge to the Lake Secondary Road at a point 1.45 kilometres north-west of its junction with West Swan Bay Road near Miena, via Little Pine Lagoon

(iv) by omitting from Part II of the second schedule to that proclamation the item relating to the Meander Valley Secondary Road and substituting the following item:

Meander Valley Secondary Road

From the Prospect Vale Interchange access road at a point 0.18 kilometres south of Westbury Road to the Bass Highway roundabout at its northern junction with Hagley Station Lane, via Travellers Rest and Carrick

From the Bass Highway at Violet Banks at a point 4.44 kilometres west of Quamby Brook Bridge to the Lake Secondary Road roundabout 1.56 kilometres west of Cresswells Road

(d) declare that this proclamation takes effect on the day on which its making is notified in the Gazette.
